Help Your Kids Help Themselves

Having five kids means there are a lot of little voices in my house! To reduce the amount of times I hear 'Mom' in my day this simple tip has saved my ears, legs and sanity.

Create a kid drawer in your kitchen that all their sippy cups, plastic cups and whatever else they ask for that won't get broken.

Explain to them, this is where all their cups go. When they want a drink, they bring you their favorite cup (how often do you pick the one they didn't have in mind?).

I put my kid drawer next to the dishwasher and the little kids enjoy throwing the cups right from the dishwasher into the drawer. Make it a game and it empowers them to be able to do it! They enjoy it too!

No spare kitchen drawers? Buy one of those plastic organizer drawer sets on wheels from Target or Walmart and then let them organize cups in one, plastic plates in another. Place mats, bibs, etc.

Less work for you is the best tip I know. ;)

What to do with that gross laundry soap cap

Do you use those 120 load laundry soap dispensers with the push button spout and the clear cap? Me too, 5 kids and a pandora's box of laundry. Does your cap still have a tiny bit of discolored soap still in it and it leaves a sticky ring on the cabinet?

Me too until I discovered this tip by accident. My Mother In Law does not have a front load washer like me and she did a load of laundry for me. She did not realized where to put the soap in the pull out drawer. So she dumped the soap on top of the clothes and threw the cup in too.

I emptied the washer and couldn't figure out how and why the cup was in there but it was like brand new clean!! Miracle!! I have even put it in the dryer accidentally and it was fine too. Not recommending that since plastic melts but it didn't for me. :)

So this tip ends the gross laundry room soap cap. Yes!!
